Gambero Rosso awarded our Semprebon a record-breaking three glasses.

vendemmia

Our Semprebon has earned the Tre Bicchieri (Three Glasses) award in the Gambero Rosso Vini d’Italia 2026 guide. In the history of what many consider the “Bible” of Italian wine lovers and the most influential trade publication abroad, this is the first time a semi-dry (amabile) Lambrusco has achieved the highest recognition.

In the previous edition, the Gambero Rosso guide had already awarded our Lambrusco Grasparossa di Castelvetro DOP with Tre Bicchieri (Three Glasses). In that case, however, the most coveted symbol among all Italian wineries was awarded to our Monovitigno, one of the most typical expressions of Fattoria Moretto.

A small record that brings double satisfaction

If confirming oneself at the highest levels in such a prestigious guide is always a great satisfaction Achieving it with a wine that doesn’t usually end up in the spotlight is even more so for two reasons.

On one hand, the Tre Bicchieri for Semprebon demonstrates the widespread high quality of our products, a goal we’ve been working toward for years and which represents the best calling card for those who encounter us for the first time. On the other, this award demonstrates how the semi-sweet type, often considered a relic of the past, can have a bright present and future when interpreted in a contemporary way.

The secret of Semprebon, the Lambrusco loved by young people

It’s no coincidence, moreover, that our semi-sweet Lambrusco is the most requested wine by our youngest customers. At fairs, events, or winery tastings, Millennials and Generation Z are increasingly choosing the fresh and seductive bubbles of Semprebon as their first glass, which expresses the classic aromas of wild blackberry and black cherry in a slightly softer sip than the dry version of Grasparossa.

Sitting around a table or behind a counter, we’ve often asked the reason for this preference, and the answers, for better or worse, have always been threefold: great drinkability, excellent balance, and crispness. Three factors that recur in our other wines and that represent, in a way, the identity of hillside Grasparossa.
