On the hills of Modena, in the heart of Emilia-Romagna,
we don’t just produce wine: we preserve an identity.
"I tasted the Lambrusco Grasparossa Monovitigno wine. I was delighted and interested. Finally, there are producers who have understood the benefit of approaching this very human grape variety with love and respect."
For over thirty-five years, we have been bringing Lambrusco Grasparossa di Castelvetro DOP to Italy and the world. Our Grasparossa is a hillside wine that captures the most authentic soul of Modena and Emilia and preserves a deep connection with the land and local tradition.
Our story begins in the early 1960s, when the Altariva family moved from the Modena Apennines and arrived in the village of Castelvetro. Here we began cultivating a deep connection with this land and with Grasparossa variety. In 1971, Domenico and Albertina purchased a hectare of land and planted their first vineyard. Thus began a family project that has grown over the years alongside Fabio and Fausto, the third generation of winemakers.
In 1991, Fattoria Moretto officially opened: from that moment, the production of Lambrusco Grasparossa DOP has become the heart of the company. Among vineyards cultivated on the hills of Castelvetro, the choice of organic farming, and a constant pursuit of quality, our story continues with the addition, in 2020, of Alessio, the fourth generation of the family.
Today, we work on almost 11 hectares of vineyards and we have opened our farm shop in the heart of the village of Castelvetro.
Some stories are born between the rows, they take shape in the cellar, and they continue over time, harvest after harvest.
In this space, we share news, events, insights, and moments from our life at the winery. This is a way to stay connected and share, step by step, our hillside Lambrusco Grasparossa, the land where it grows, as well as the passion that accompanies it every day.
