Hillside Grasparossa

It's much more than a Lambrusco,
it's Grasparossa.

Lambrusco, with its various styles, is among the best-selling Italian wines worldwide. From the very beginning, at Fattoria Moretto we decided to dedicate ourselves exclusively to Grasparossa, a wine that embodies the history, present, and future of Castelvetro.

Ours is an artisanal hillside Lambrusco. It “rises” from the silty-clay soils of Monte Barello, the only recognized DOP subzone, to release the essence of a unique and fascinating terroir.

Vigna

At approximately 200 meters above sea level, on soils rich in clay, silt, and limestone, old vines nearly sixty years old stand alongside new plantings in the vineyard’s natural evolution. Their strategic location ensures constant ventilation, preserving the health of the plants, while sun exposure allows the grapes to fully ripen, achieving an ideal balance between structure and freshness that is found in every bottle.

In these optimal conditions, low vineyard yields, certified organic farming, meticulous care of the vine rows, and manual harvesting are the secrets to bringing perfect bunches to the cellar. Here, through single-varietal vinification, we preserve the nuances of each individual plot while respecting its unique identity.

Direct control of the entire production chain and an artisanal approach allow us to create authentic and contemporary wines. Whoever uncorks a Fattoria Moretto wine should not discover an excellent Lambrusco only, but the soul of our land and our work as well.

Producing artisanal hillside Lambrusco for us means putting attention to detail before large numbers, remaining faithful to the value of time, respecting the land, its fruits, and those who will enjoy them today and tomorrow.
